folklife

"Who is this festival targeting?" - overheard at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.

Good question.

It's always fun to hear live music on the Mall. Eat some interesting cuisine (well, maybe not from Wales this year, although the other exhibits are lots of fun) and get a chance to see some visiting artisans in action.

This year's festival seems a bit disjointed, however. It's definitely smaller in scope - it seems to take up less National Mall real estate. And as usual, there is a Latin American component. Not sure why that always seems to be the case.

But it's hard to complain when the Incan rotisserie chicken was so yum.
